The CAT (Common Admission Test conducted by the IIMs) is the MBA entrance exam for more than 160 management institutes across India, including the 13 IIMs. Both the IIM’s and Non IIM’s Institutes require a valid CAT Score of the student so as to consider them for the further selection process. The competition in this exam is very tough as the students devote at least one year to prepare for this exam. Also since the best brains in the country compete for the limited seats in the IIMs and other top notch institutes, competition gets tougher. This Exam tests the application of aptitude learnt in the school days. Hence the one’s with good conceptual clarity are able to solve even the tough and tricky questions and fare well in this exam. Hence smart work and ample of practice are the main factors which can help to crack a top institute. We at ELC help the students to develop the right approach through our systematic course structure and our Unique Speed Techniques.

The MBA CAT Exam Pattern has changed over the years. Earlier this exam was quite lengthy, the total number of questions varied from 150 to 180 with 3 different sections. However CAT 2011 changed its pattern of CAT by introducing sectional timings of 70 minutes per section and having only 2 sections, instead of 3 sections as was the trend in previous years' CAT.The Detailed exam structure of CAT has been discussed in the Info Zone for various Exams.

Our CAT Plus Batch is designed for the students who plan to appear for MAH MBA/MMS CET as well.

Classroom Coaching

The Earlier Sessions are a Foundation course where we start with the basics and fundamental concepts. This is essential for the students who come from Non Maths background, to make sure that they can cope up with the later content at the same pace as others from Maths background. Meanwhile the students from the Maths Background find this foundation course as a revision session to strengthen the concepts they already know.

The Entire Teaching Content For This Exam is Divided into Different Modules.

  • Modular Tests:
After Every Module, A separate Modular test is conducted to evaluate the preparedness of students ‘Topic Wise’. The main focus of these modular tests is to check the conceptual clarity.
  • Comprehensive Tests:
Here 2 to 3 Modules are clubbed together. These tests evaluate the relative performance topic wise. The number of questions, difficulty level being more as compared to that in the Modular tests.
  • Sectional Tests:
The Sectional Tests comprise of around 10 sectional tests across Verbal, Logic Reasoning, DI, and Quantitative areas and General Awareness. These tests help to test the preparedness of the student for every section and help them analyse their relatively strong sections.
  • Online Mock Test Series:
Since MBA CAT is now online, We offer 20+15 Online Mock tests simulating the actual exam pattern as per the latest exam pattern. Online exam help the student to get a feel of the Online Exam Environment. Once the students have appeared for these exams, a special Analysis Session is conducted where Speed Techniques for these questions are discussed.
  • Revision Sessions:

Group Discussion and Personal Interviews

To Encourage the Participation of students in Group Discussion/ Essay Writing and Personal Interivew, we have different competitions which are conducted at ELC to groom the students for Soft Skills. Mock GD’s are conducted where students are given an individual feedback and the group as a whole gets a group feedback. These sessions are conducted in the first half duration of the course, so as to introduce the students to Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.

Essay Writing sessions are also included in these competitions since many MBA exams Like XAT and TISS test the Written communication of students via Essay Writing.

After the Written Entrance Exam, students have to Appear for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews which are a part of the selection process. Hence ample of practice is given to the students for the soft skills. The study material for these is provided separately with the latest updates and statistics which can be utilized in the Group Discussion.
